World Infection Prevention and Control Week 2026
Theme: Generations of Infection Prevention – Past. Present. Protected.
Annai Arul Hospital observed World Infection Prevention and Control Week with an engaging series of activities on 27 October 2026, highlighting the importance of infection prevention and control in ensuring patient and healthcare worker safety.
The celebrations featured a lively Hand Hygiene Dance, a Fancy Dress Competition showcasing pioneers of infection prevention, and an engaging role play by AAH students depicting the life and contributions of Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis. Interactive activities, including a Word-Finding Game, added to the learning experience.
The event also featured an insightful presentation by Dr. Shiney, followed by prize distribution to recognise the winners.
Through learning, creativity and active participation, the programme reinforced a vital message: Infection prevention is everyone’s responsibility, across every generation.
